As much as I loved the bold, spotted wall I had in my home office, it was time for a change. Even though you don’t see his side of it, Matt and I share our home office space. While my side of the office is still girly to say the least, I thought it was only fair we finally picked a neutral wall color. He’s never complained about the pink walls (what a keeper), but I wanted to tone things down a bit in the office anyway. Now, onto the office tour:

What I especially love about this office refresh, is that with the exception of a new desk chair, all of the furniture stayed the same. With the introduction of a few new pieces of decor I was able to change the style of the room to better fit my own personal style at the moment. I’m sure you’ve noticed by now that I like to change things up pretty often. I’m someone who thrives off of their environment. If I’m not loving my space, it’s hard for me to be productive. Being in a space I love instantly lifts my mood, so I make it a point to refresh my spaces seasonally. Even though I add new pieces in, I always save the ones I take out. While a piece of decor or furniture may not work in the room at the moment, I may want to incorporate it back into the space another day or season. I keep all of my extra decor and furniture organized in my garage (but that’s a blog post for another day).

As I said, I kept most of the furniture the same, with the exception of my chair. While I still absolutely love my previous chair, I wanted to find a more neutral piece, so I opted for a cream office chair with gold hardware. As for decor, changing up my pin board definitely made a big difference. Pin boards are great because you can constantly pin new prints or magazine cut-outs depending on your mood. Another great versatile decor piece is a letter board. Similarly to the pin board, you can switch it up according to your mood. I always like to keep inspiring quotes on it!

You may recognize this marble lamp from my bedroom tour. I loved it so much I grabbed one for the office too!
