One of my recent goals was to get back into reading, so I tried a new genre that I don’t normally dive into… the “romantacy” genre. This mixes fantasy and romance and I loved it! There were a few books on the list that I heard so much about, like Fourth Wing and ACOTAR, but I also mixed in a few suspenseful books and read Normal People since I thoroughly enjoyed the show. There were so many winners so I put together all of the books I’ve read lately (and recommend) in today’s blog post.

Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

This book has dragons, romance, amazing characters, and action. It kept me entertained the entire time! If you liked Divergent, you’ll love this.

The Teacher by Freida McFadden

This psychological thriller took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions but ultimately was sooo good! It will have you guessing the twist till the end.

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas

If you’re on Booktok you’ve definitely heard of this popular series and I will say book one did not disappoint! I have heard it just gets better and better so I’m super excited to read more. It took me a second to get into the fantasy but once I did I was hooked.

Bride by Ali Hazelwood

If you’re a Twilight fan, this book is the one for you, as it jumps into the world of vampires and werewolves. Also includes the marriage of convenience trope we all know and love.

Normal People by Sally Rooney

I absolutely LOVED the Normal People TV series so I knew I had to read the book! It gave the exact same vibes as the show and it was a quick and enjoyable read. I wasn’t ready to let the characters go!

Synopsis:

The Housemaid’s Secret by Freida McFadden

This was another book that kept me on the edge of my seat and full of suspense! I can’t decide which Freida McFadden book I like more so I’d just say read both 😉

Synopsis:

It’s hard to find an employer who doesn’t ask too many questions about my past. So I thank my lucky stars that the Garricks miraculously give me a job, cleaning their stunning penthouse with views across the city and preparing fancy meals in their shiny kitchen. I can work here for a while, stay quiet until I get what I want. It’s almost perfect. But I still haven’t met Mrs Garrick, or seen inside the guest bedroom. I’m sure I hear her crying. I notice spots of blood around the neck of her white nightgowns when I’m doing laundry. And one day I can’t help but knock on the door. When it gently swings open, what I see inside changes everything….

That’s when I make a promise. After all, I’ve done this before. I can protect Mrs. Garrick while keeping my own secrets locked up safe. Douglas Garrick has done wrong. He is going to pay. It’s simply a question of how far I’m willing to go….
