Bedroom essentials to upgrade your space

When it comes to getting a good night’s sleep, having the right bedroom essentials is key. My bedroom is my sanctuary. I have the hardest time unplugging and falling asleep at night, so creating a relaxing, yet functional space was a must for me. If you’re looking to upgrade your sleeping space, these are a few bedroom essentials that have made a big difference in my life. From a pillow wedge to a white noise machine, here are seven must-have items for a cozy and inviting bedroom.

Keep reading for the 7 bedroom essentials I can’t live without!

1. Wedge Pillow

For the past two years I have spent every morning digging my pillow out between my headboard and mattress. I finally looked into a solution and this pillow wedge has been perfect. In addition to keeping my pillows on my bed, it’s also great for propping yourself up when reading or watching TV.

2. White Noise Machine

A white noise machine is a game-changer for anyone who struggles with falling asleep or staying asleep. It creates a consistent, soothing sound that can drown out other noises and help you relax. I quite literally can’t fall asleep without one. I’ve tried a handful of different machines over the years and this one is definitely my favorite.

3. Weekly Pill Organizer

Over the past few months I have been trying to be consistent with taking vitamins and supplements. This pill organizer has made it 100x easier. It holds 7 days worth of pills and the twist design allows you to easily dispense your daily vitamins each morning.

4. A Reading Light

As many of you know I’m currently in my reading era and spend most nights curled up in my bed with a book. If a book starts to get really good I have a hard time putting it down, so there are some nights where I’m still reading until 2 or 3 in the morning. Matt typically goes to bed much earlier than me, so this reading light has been my best friend. It provides enough light for me to read, without bothering my husband (even though he can sleep through just about anything).

5. Charging Pad

A phone charging pad is a must-have for any bedroom. Not only does it keep your phone charged and ready to go, but it also eliminates the need for messy cords and cables. I love this one from Amazon because the design is sleek and it has a built-in tray that’s perfect for your glasses or everyday jewelry.

6. Five-Minute Journal

As I mentioned earlier, I have a hard time unplugging at the end of the day. Back in January I started consistently using this Five-Minute Journal and have been loving it. It prompts you to write down three things you are grateful for, three things that would make today great, and a daily affirmation. It only takes five minutes to complete, but I feel like it’s had a pretty positive impact on my mindset and overall well-being.

7. Storage Ottoman

I always felt like there was something missing in front of our bed and this storage ottoman was just the thing to fill the space. I love the extra storage it provides for things like blankets, pillows, and Merlin’s dog toys. (Sometimes when people are coming over and I’m in a rush to straighten up, I’ll throw random stuff in there too!)

And there you have it, seven bedroom essentials I’m obsessed with. If you’re looking for even more bedroom inspiration, be sure to check out what’s in my nightstand.
