How I’m Decorating My Home for the Holidays

Now that we're diving into the holiday season, I have been getting my home decorated and festive for the holidays! Now that we’re diving into the holiday season, I have been getting my home decorated and festive for the holidays! We spend a lot of time at home in the weeks leading up to Christmas, with family visiting here & there, but we spend Christmas Eve & Christmas in New York! I like to get my holiday decor up pretty early so we have a lot of time to enjoy it. I typically put up the same decor but I always like to grab some new goodies to incorporate into my home. I haven’t gotten the entire house decorated just yet, but I wanted to show you guys how I’m decorating my home for the holidays this year and a little peek at what I’ve done so far!

Decor Around my Home

You guys know how much I love my neutrals, so I mostly like to stick to whites, neutrals, and metallic colors for my holiday decor! I love decorating these shelves since I can mix in holiday items with our normal decor, making everything look festive and pretty. I also love grabbing small decor pieces since it’s easy to slowly add everything to my home. I think adding these subtle holiday pieces always makes it feel more festive, and they’re perfect if you’re not ready to fully jump into everything holiday decor yet.

I included these gold trees in the decor this year, and I love the way they added to everything. They are an easy and subtle way to bring in a little gold, and they’re under $30 for a set of two! I might grab a few more to add around my house in other spots.

Another glass tree decor piece I’m loving is this ribbed glass tree. You can shop it in silver or gold and it’s actually a pretty nice size for $15! It’s super cute around the house on the coffee table or entryway table, I’m definitely adding it to my home this year!

I absolutely love our stockings and get so excited to pull them out every year! They come in this ivory and gold combination we have, and a pretty black and flax combination as well. I’m a sucker for anything personalized so you know we had to get our names on our stockings (along with one for Merlin, our fur baby!).

I grabbed this stocking holder for this year since I love the antique look of it and the pretty gold metal. They’re quite inexpensive at $12 a piece, so they’re a great option if you’re looking for a stocking holder!

Here’s more of the decor I have around my home for the holidays this year!

Acrylic Nutcracker | How cool is this acrylic nutcracker? I’ve never seen anything like it so I knew I had to grab it for this year! It’s super easy to place anywhere in the home.

Artificial Pine Trees | These pine trees are so pretty and come in small, medium, and large sizes. I love the feathery look of them and have a few placed around my home.

Glass Trees | I love these glass trees for how simple and versatile they are. They come in a set of 4 and can easily be styled together or separately.

For the front porch:

Snowy Grass Wreath | A wreath is essential during the holiday season, and this year I’m using this snowy grass wreath! It’s so pretty and only $30.

Cement Nutcracker | A bit of a splurge, but this cement nutcracker is something you’d use year after year! It’s so simple and neutral and would go with any holiday decor. It makes a statement on my front porch!

Gingerbread House Doormat | This doormat is so sweet and gives me all of the holiday feels!

My Tree

I’ve also begun getting my Christmas tree set up! I love getting it up early since it adds the coziest feel to our space. Turning the lights dim and leaving the Christmas tree lights on with a movie playing? The best! Here’s how I’m decorating my tree this year:

The Tree | We use this faux tree and it’s been the best year after year! I especially love the snowy-looking branches and it’s quite large at 9 FT.

Ornaments Set | These ornaments are neutral and pretty and are the perfect base for tree decorations!

Tree Topper | I got this pretty wooden tree topper new this year and I’m loving adding wood in with the different ornaments.

Painted Glass Ornament | This ornament is so dainty and would look beautiful on any tree.

Croc Ornament | The croc pattern on this ornament is so fun!

Tree Skirt | This tree skirt is velvet with embroidery and looks so good under the tree! My favorite part about it is the red bows on the back.

Primrose Mirror Ornament | The iconic primrose mirror comes in an ornament so I had to snag one for my tree!

Sherpa Bows | These sherpa bows are a fun addition to make my tree look fuller.

White Ornaments | These white ornaments come in a set of 18 and are a good staple ornament you can use year after year.

Etched Ornament | I love these etched ornaments to add a little metallic to my tree.

Entertaining

Of course, I had to grab a few new items for holiday entertaining! I love hosting people in my home so I always keep an eye out for cute things like this. I’m still gathering entertaining pieces, but here’s what I have for now!

(add widget)

Gingerbread Glasses | These glasses have a subtle little gingerbread man on them and I am obsessed. Perfect for holiday cocktails!

Santa Glasses | Your table set-up will be complete with these Santa glasses! So dainty and cute, I can’t wait to use mine.

Serving Board | I’ll be doing lots of cheese boards throughout the holidays so I grabbed this tree serving board. This would work for anything and even would be cute kitchen decor.
